Eligibility And Document Requirement

Eligibility - Who can purchase?

Any person enrolled in or employed by a school or non-profit organization as follows:

A. Students: Full-time or part-time student enrolled in a degree granting, accredited educational institution including
  • K-12 schools: public, vocational and private schools
  • Higher Ed schools: 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities, community colleges, technical institutions and graduate schools

B. Faculty & Teachers: Full-time or part-time staff member employed by a degree granting, accredited educational institution including
  • K-12 schools: public, vocational and private schools
  • Higher Ed schools: 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities, community colleges, technical institutions and graduate schools

C. Administrators & Staff: Full-time or part-time teacher employed by a degree granting, accredited educational institution including
  • K-12 schools: public, vocational and private schools
  • Higher Ed schools: 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities, community colleges, technical institutions and graduate schools

D. Non-Profit Organizations: Any organization that is classified as either a 501c3 or a 509a entity as defined by the Dept. of Treasury / IRS.

E. Home Schooling: Anyone in a home school program with the proper documentation, which can be a valid photo ID and a copy of one of the following: a letter of intent to home school to your local school district; the Home School Legal Defense Assoc. membership card; the Home School Charter School membership card; a book/curriculum receipt for the current year. F. Others:
  • Churches:Qualify for Non-profit editions
  • Hospitals: Qualify for academic editions IF they are wholly owned by a university.
  • Libraries: Qualify for Non-profit editions and all Microsoft titles.
  • Military Schools: Qualify for academic editions.
  • Museums: Qualify for Non-profit editions and all Microsoft titles
  • Research Labs: qualify for academic editions IF recognized by the Dept of Education; government recognized labs do not qualify.
  • Training Centers: Do Not qualify for academic editions.

NOTE: Parents can purchase software on behalf of their children but the shipping address must match the name on the academic verification documents.

Limitations:

Individual student and faculty purchases are limited to 1 copy per title per academic year. There are no limits for Academic Institutions/School/Non-Profit purchase. If you have any questions please contact us at customerservice@academic-collegiate.com.


Document Required:


How do I prove my academic or non-profit qualifications? All orders must include ONE legible document that verifies your current enrollment or employment as follows:
A. Students, Teachers, & Staff:
Any dated document that includes both your name and the schools name. Examples include a school ID badge, a class schedule, a report card, a tuition bill, a pay stub (with personal info blacked out), a letter of acceptance, a contract or letter of employment.

B. Non-profits:
A copy of the IRS letter that designates your organization as either a 501c3 or a 509a entity.


C. Home Schooling:
A valid photo ID and a copy of one of the following: a letter of intent to home school to your local school district; the Home School Legal Defense Assoc. membership card; the Home School Charter School membership card; a book/curriculum receipt for the current year. NOTE: Academic qualifications remain on file until the end of the current academic year (June 30). Non-profit documents remain on file for 2 years.
