With four lines of defense, NetBarrier X5 offers Firewall, Antivandal, Privacy and Monitoring features. Among the program's new features are more specific firewall rules, simpler rule creation using a Services Library palette, and rules that operate only during specified time periods. NetBarrier X5's Antivandal offers greater control over sensitivity for different types of attacks, and more flexibility in using the Stop List and Trusted Group. The program's anti-spyware feature lets users allow or block network access by application and by port, and its Internet filters have been improved and refined. In addition, NetBarrier X5 now finds available AirPort (WiFi) networks, and several Mac OS X Tiger Dashboard Widgets provide easily accessible information, such as network traffic data.
