1) Managing full teXt has never been easier! With the increasing use of online databases and availability of full text articles, EndNote X offers new PDF management tools so you can concentrate on your research instead of trying to find that critical document amongst a mass of paperwork. Drag and drop PDF documents directly into your EndNote references to create an instant automatic link to any full text articles stored on your machine or network.
References which include a PDF file are now even easier to find at a glance with the new PDF icon which appears next to the reference in the main library window. There is also a new 'Open PDF' button on the main toolbar for even quicker access to your documents.
2) Find eXactly what you are looking for The main library window now allows you to add up to 8 fields as column headings so you can view more information at a glance. By using the custom sort option you can list your references in the order that makes the most sense to you.
Use additional comparison operators for searching your library including "field begins with," "field ends with," and "word begins with". You can also search for tabs and carriage returns in any field.
3) EXterminate empty fields! The new option to Show and Hide Empty Fields means you can view an entire reference at a glance and quickly make changes without having to scroll through lots of unused fields.
4) Four eXtra reference types! EndNote X features four new predefined reference types, bringing the total number available to 42. Use EndNote X to reference Grants, Ancient Texts, Dictionaries and Encyclopedias so that your reference sources are always cited correctly.
5) Hundreds of eXtra content files Select new and updated connection files and import filters to download and store references in your library. EndNote X now offers a staggering 2300 output styles. and it's really easy to create your own, so you can use EndNote for even the most demanding referencing requirements specified by your institution or journal.
6) Backup and eXchange your libraries Save your complete EndNote library with all associated PDF's and images to a single compressed file so it's easier to backup and share information with your colleagues.
7) Enhanced 'Change teXt' function The new 'Special Character' button means you can use the Change Text function to find and replace tabs and carriage returns resulting in more powerful global editing functionality. Quickly remove unwanted paragraphs in your abstracts and ensure that authors are always entered on separate lines without having to edit each record by hand!
8) Easier to eXport EndNote X includes a new option to export selected references to RTF, HTML, XML and text so it's even quicker to send specific references to a webpage or Word document to create a freestanding bibliography.
9) EXtended page numbering for journals Specify just the start page or a whole page range in your record using the new dedicated fields for Journal Articles. Show the start page in your in-text citation, and the full page range in your bibliography!
10) Logical and eXtremely easy to use! There are many other tweaks and enhancements in EndNote X which help to improve the user interface, streamline your workflow and ultimately save you even more time and effort spent writing. For example, the reference type list has been sorted into alphabetical order, which makes the process of adding references faster than ever before! |
