HOW TO BUY

1. Who can purchase? Any person enrolled in or employed by a school or non-profit organization as follows:
A. Students: a full-time or part-time student enrolled in a degree granting, accredited educational institution including
• K12 schools: public, vocational and private schools,
• Higher Ed schools: 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities, community colleges, technical institutions and graduate schools
B. Faculty & Teachers: a full-time or part-time staff member employed by a degree granting, accredited educational institution – see above
C. Administrators & Staff: a full-time or part-time teacher employed by a degree granting, accredited educational institution – see above
D. Non-Profit Organizations: Any organization that is classified as either a 501c3 or a 509a entity as defined by the Dept. of Treasury / IRS.
E. Home Schooling: anyone in a home school program with the proper documentation (see #2c below).
F. Others:
• Churches – qualify for Non-profit editions
• Hospitals – qualify for academic editions IF they are wholly owned by a university.
• Libraries – qualify for Non-profit editions and all Microsoft titles.
• Military Schools – qualify for academic editions.
• Museums: qualify for Non-profit editions and all Microsoft titles
• Research Labs: qualify for academic editions IF recognized by the Dept of Education; government recognized labs do not qualify.
• Training Centers – Do Not qualify for academic editions.

NOTE: Parents can purchase software on behalf of their children but the shipping address must match the name on the academic verification documents (see #2a below).

2. How do I prove my academic or non-profit qualifications? All orders must include ONE legible document that verifies your current enrollment or employment as follows:
A. Students, Teachers, & Staff: any dated document that includes both your name and the school’s name. Examples include a school ID badge, a class schedule, a report card, a tuition bill, a pay stub (with personal info blacked out), a letter of acceptance, a contract or letter of employment.
B. Non-profits: a copy of the IRS letter that designates your organization as either a 501c3 or a 509a entity.
C. Home Schooling: a valid photo ID and a copy of one of the following: a letter of intent to home school to your local school district; the Home School Legal Defense Assoc. membership card; the Home School Charter School membership card; a book/curriculum receipt for the current year. NOTE: Academic qualifications remain on file until the end of the current academic year (June 30). Non-profit documents remain on file for 2 years.

3. How do I place my order? In 3 easy steps:
A. Collect your academic or non-profit credentials and confirm that you meet the requirements as follows:

2. For non-profit customers - click here or see above.
B. Select the item(s) you want, add it to your cart and proceed to checkout. To ensure a fast and easy checkout, please observe the following rules:
1. The billing address refers to the address to which the credit you are using is mailed each month.
2. The shipping address can be different than the billing address but the name must match the name on the academic or non-profit credentials submitted. International customers should click here to check if a product may be shipped out of the U.S.
3. The shipping address must include a street number and name as we cannot ship to a PO box.
4. Orders to be expedited for Next or 2nd Day delivery must be placed by 3:00PM EST to ensure they ship the same day as ordered.
C. When you have completed the checkout process, you will be given an order number. Write this order number on your academic or non-profit credentials and send it to us via one of the following methods:

D. DOWNLOADS - The links for any download order will come directly from the publisher and not from Academic & Collegiate. Please allow up to 12 hours for download orders to be processed. You can download a trial version (if available) in the interim and convert it to a fully licensed version when you receive the download keys.
Software delievered by ESD cannot be returned.
E. PURCHASE ORDERS - We accept purchase orders from schools and extend Net 30 day terms. The PO must be on an official school form with full billing and shipping address. Please include your tax exempt number to avoid paying sales tax.

LIMITATIONS

ACADEMIC: Individual student and faculty purchases are limited to 1 copy per title per academic year. There are no limits for school purchases.
NON-PROFITS: Not all titles on our website are available to non-profits. Titles with product codes ending in ENP, R or LR are available to Non-profits.


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are education versions the same as commercial versions? Yes. The main difference is that educational versions cannot be used for commercial purposes. The programs function the same as commercial versions. The only difference is that some titles may include the manual on the CD/DVD instead of a printed copy.

Can I return the software for credit?
• Yes – for software shipped in a box. Unopened software can be returned within 30 days from date of purchase and must include a copy of the original order. Please call us for a return authorization number at 800-429-1686.
• No – for software delivered via electronic download. All download sales are final.
• Academic licenses may be subject to a 10% processing charge.


What is your policy for backorders? We will notify you if any items your order unexpectedly go on backorder and will email you an anticipated delivery date.

When do you charge my credit card? Your credit card will not be charged until the product ships and we email you a tracking number. When you place your order, your credit card is only “authorized”, meaning it is checked to make sure the credit card has not been reported stolen and that there is sufficient open credit for your order. The actual charge is not “captured” until we send you an email with a shipper (UPS, FedEx) tracking number. This 2-step process protects both your and our security.
